When we first saw Dolffanog Fach we immediately felt an affinity with its charm, character and superb setting. Traditional stone and slate combines with an indulgent contemporary internal decor, giving an unmistakeable 21st century feel - stylish, modern, comfortable and affordable. In winter there are roaring log fires and in summer the delightful gardens to enjoy. All our rooms are tastefully simple with a contemporary feel, exuding quality taste and warmth, and are named after local mountains and rivers. All our quilts and pillows are Polish Goose down, all our linen is crisp white Egyptian cotton. Sleep quality is assured with our memory foam mattresses.Dolffanog Fach is set in a walker's paradise with everything from a gentle stroll around the lake to a full day's climb up Cader Idris. Step out from our front door and you are surrounded by footpaths that entice you to explore. For the cyclist, several dedicated routes run past us, and the internationally renowned mountain biking centre at Coed y Brenin is close by. Back at Dolffanog Fach, relax in our Finnish sauna, in the large garden or by the fire.A delicious three-course dinner is always available. Enjoy freshly prepared local or home-grown organic produce, freshly cooked and served in the intimate candlelit atmosphere of our slate-floored dining room. From the south to Birmingham:M6 to M54 for Shrewsbury A458 Welshpool A470 for Dolgellau A487 (Machynlleth) B4405 (Tywyn) and follow this past a sharp left and sharp right hand bend. Immediately after the right hand bend there are a cluster of 5 houses, Dolffanog Fach being the 3rd house along.From the North West:M56 M53 for Chester. A55 A5104 for Corwen. Follow the A494 for Bala. Through Bala A470 (Machynlleth). Take a right turn at the Cross Foxes on the A487 B4405 and follow this past a sharp left and sharp right hand bend. Immediately after the right hand bend there are a cluster of 5 houses, Dolffanog Fach being the 3rd house along.From South West Wales:A487 Aberystwyth and follow the same road to Machynlleth. A487 out of Machynlleth and follow signs for Dolgellau. B4405. Follow the B4405 past a sharp left and sharp right hand bend. Immediately after the right hand bend there are a cluster of 5 houses, Dolffanog Fach being the 3rd house along. The closest train station to Dolffanog Fach is Machynlleth.
